Frequently asked questions

What is the difference between Hemp and Marijuana?

There is no taxonomic difference among plants within the genus Cannabis that distinguishes between the terms “Hemp” and “Marijuana.” Rather, these names are used to describe differences in Cannabinoid content and potency naturally expressed by all Cannabis plants. Our plants are Hemp because they are high in CBD and low in THC. Short for Cannabidiol, CBD is a phytocannabinoid derived from the trichomes found on industrial hemp flower. Cannabinoids are naturally produced in the brain, and CBD’s therapeutic effect on neural receptors helps to treat anxiety, depression, body inflammation, and numerous other ailments. CBD is non-psychoactive, causing no “high” when ingested, unlike Marijuana which predominately contains moderate to high levels of THC, the primary compound that results in intoxication.

Why would I use Hemp over Marijuana?

Consuming hemp is one of the best ways to experience the medicinal benefits of CBD without getting “high”. As human beings, we already naturally inherit integrated receptors in our bodies known as the Endocannabinoid System. This complex system plays a crucial role in the body’s homeostasis and directly interacts with Cannabinoids found in hemp to achieve an optimal balance between the mind, body, and spirit.

Is Hemp Flower legal?

Yes. Since the Agricultural Improvement Act of 2018 was signed into law, hemp was removed from the Controlled Substances Act and is federally legal to possess and consume in the USA. This includes all parts of the plant. To grow hemp commercially requires a license from a state that has a USDA-sanctioned hemp program. ARROWLEAF is licensed by the state of Oregon to grow, handle, and distribute hemp. It is the customer’s responsibility to be aware of any local state regulations regarding CBD use and possession.

Does CBD show up on a drug test?

CBD by itself should not show up on a drug test, but since hemp does have small traces of THC, we cannot make any guarantees that someone using our products will pass a drug test. Each drug test varies in criteria so we are unable to offer any data supporting what amount of usage may cause a hot test. Please consult our COA’s for each strain of flower for more information regarding potency.

Is your product organic?

We are actively working towards acquiring our USDA Organic Certification, in the meantime, you can confidently enjoy our products knowing that we practice safe, sanitary, and holistic growing methods. We are proud to grow Non-GMO, USDA Certified Organic seed varieties from OregonCBD (click here for more info). The plants drink from cold, clean, and filtered water out of the Deschutes River. Our nutrient fertilizer regiment is composed of organic and natural products, we pull all of our weeds by hand, and any harmful insects that make their way into our fields are promptly eaten by our resident songbirds, turkeys, lizards, and snakes. The strict discipline of these principles results in a superior product our customers attest to. We feel like transparency and trust with our customers are paramount and we gladly welcome any questions regarding our operating practices.

What is the difference between CBD and CBDa?

Everyone is familiar with the two dominant Cannabinoids, CBD and THC, found in Cannabis. However, it is important to know that these Cannabinoids occur in the plant as “acidic forms” hence the abbreviation CBDa and CBGa. CBD and CBG are only made bioavailable through a chemical reaction process known as “decarboxylation”. To accomplish this, raw plant material is heated, resulting in the acidic “precursor” molecule becoming “smaller” by losing its carboxylic acid form, thus making it more bioavailable to us. CBDa and CBGa can be isolated into concentrated forms through a process that uses an extraction catalyst such as alcohol, to separate plant matter and other bio waste from Cannabinoid molecules.

What makes your products Premium?

We believe that Premium CBD Hemp Flower is a result of plants who are allowed to flourish with minimal interruptions in their natural growth process. Our harvests are the product of our family’s hard work and dedication to clean, healthy hemp plants which are cared for by the same hands every step of the way. This approach begins even before our seeds are sown and continues throughout the plant’s lifetime. We deliver high quality, top-shelf, CBD flower due to the control we have over the entire process and because of our privileged location. Our climate in the arid eastern foothills of the Cascades in Oregon lends us a unique opportunity to grow in ideal outdoor conditions. Each plant in the field is gently cared for individually and receives regular close inspections for signs of stress or pests. We provide them with high-quality and all-natural nutrients according to their growth phases throughout the season, giving exactly what they need when they need it. Our harvest is slow-cured in climate-controlled facilities, maintaining our flower’s integrity before and well after it is hand-finished. Enjoy ARROWLEAF’s products with the assurance that we have had your experience in mind from the very beginning.
